Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q. What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It’s a model where community members purchase a share of a local farm’s harvest in advance and receive fresh, seasonal produce each week.
Q. Why is a CSA Important?
For small, historically disadvantaged farmers, a CSA can help provide reliable income, reduce dependence on middlemen, and build direct relationships with the community. This helps sustain local food systems, preserves cultural farming traditions, and promotes self-determination via economic equity.
Q: What comes in the EP Farm Fresh CSA bags each week?
A: The Small Bag includes leafy greens, root vegetables, fruit, and herbs. The Large Bag includes all of the above plus a value-added product (e.g., herbal tea, jam, or sauce).
Q: Where can I pick up my EP Farm Fresh bag?
A: Pickups are available at Earth People Farms on Wednesdays between 10am and 7pm.
Q: Can I get my EP Farm Fresh bag delivered?
A: Yes! We offer local delivery for an additional fee.
Q: What if I’m away one week?
A: You can gift your bag to a friend or opt for a double portion the following week (just let us know in advance!).
Q: Are EP Farm Fresh products organic?
A: We use sustainable and organic growing practices, though we are not certified organic. Most of our produce is grown sustainably right here at Earth People Farms and Papa Brown Farms. We also collaborate with a trusted network of local small farmers who share our commitment to land stewardship and community wellness. To ensure full, abundant shares each week, we occasionally supplement with produce from the SC State Farmers Market—carefully selecting from South Carolina growers whose practices align with our values.
Q: Can I choose what’s in my EP Farm Fresh bag?
A: EP Farm Fresh bags are curated weekly based on what’s fresh and in season. We aim to provide variety and quality every week!
Q: What are the payment options?
A: You can pay online, via Cash App, PayPal, or with cash at the farm.
Q: Do you accept EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer)?
A: Yes, we accept EBT payments. As a participant in the SC Department of Social Services Healthy Bucks Program, EBT customers will receive a $15 discount each week on their EP Farm Fresh bag. Due to state and federal regulations, subscriptions are not available. However, we can process your EBT payment on site during each weekly delivery or pick-up.
